Dear Didy, .... I thought I would share some positive news. One of our Scouts who attended the dedication service in the past is racing tomorrow in the Quad Sculls at the Olympics. Callum Dixon had an uplifting conversation with Lord West about their shared love of sailing.
Callum went on to follow is passion and joined the British Sailing Team sailing in the Finn Class.
Unfortunately this event was dropped from the Olympic programme after Tokyo 2020. He did not let this stop him and switched to Sculling and is now representing Great Britain in the men's Quad Sculls final at the Olympics tomorrow.
I have attached a photo of Callum at one of your services and also one of him with his team (he is the one without sun glasses)
We will all be cheering on this lad from East London tomorrow.
Kind regards
Alan Hands
