Emanuel Heitz
Tenor Emanuel Heitz was born and raised in Basel. After attaining his Bachelor and Master’s degree in pedagogic and music education, he continued his vocal studies in Basel and in 2015 completed his Master of Performance in the class of Marcel Boone. During his studies he attended different master classes with Kurt Widmer and Margreet Honig, as well as various stage courses with directors such as Regina Heer, Olivia Fuchs and Frank Hilbrich. He gained his first stage experience with the opera company Operella in the production of Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah, directed by Regina Heer and in a performance of Händel’s Messiah with the Capriccio Baroque Orchestra. In 2012 Emanuel Heitz won a scholarship from the Friedl Wald foundation. In 2014, he took part in the production of L’enfant et les Sortilèges at the Theater Basel. In October 2015 at the Gare du Nord, an experimental music centre for modern music in Basel, Emanuel performed the role of Richard in Ernst Krenek’s opera What Price Confidence.
In September 2016, with Neil Mackie as his teacher, Emanuel Heitz began his studies in the opera course at the Royal Academy of Music in London. His goal is to become a successful concert and opera singer.
