Welcome to our website which provides a window into the work and aims of our wonderful and historic society. You will find news of how we support our exceptional young award holders, see how our award holders have gone on to great success and learn of our rich history. As well as enjoying a fantastically supportive network, our membership and award holders come together for wonderful social occasions in stunning venues, and we welcome enquiries about both membership and corporate sponsorship

The Honourable Society of Knights of the Round Table was formed in London in 1720 by a group of actors, artists and literary friends to keep the values of King Arthur alive. One notable early member was Charles Dickens.

Today The Society offers exciting opportunities to young people and awards grants to those who have made an exceptional start to their career.
The society is a British charity.

Awards

The Society gives financial awards to young people, nominated by the institutions they attend.

Our support is not just financial. Our members offer a unique supportive network, which is comprised of high level expertise in a wide range of fields.

Our awards are given to help people with exceptional talents who their institutions believe will benefit the most from our support.

Get Involved

Becoming a member of The Honourable Society of the Knights of the Round Table is a fulfilling endeavour. Our awards are funded by a relatively modest annual membership fee, but more than that members offer their time and expertise to award holders, and their sense of fun to our social occasions. We also welcome corporate sponsorship.

As stated, as an intention within the video above, the Honourable Society is pleased to report that its annual charitable distribution increased from £20,000 to in excess of £50,000 in 2023/24.

Knights of the Round Table "Awardees Lunch 2026" at the The RAF Club, 128 Piccadilly, London

The Awardees’ Lunch on 25 January 2026 was a really uplifting afternoon, bringing Knights, guests and award holders together for conversation, encouragement and celebration. Held at the Royal Air Force Club, the lunch gave awardees the chance to share what they are doing and the progress they are making, through short presentations and some wonderful musical performances. It was a real pleasure to see (and hear!) the talented young people as they develop their potential.

What a memorable Society’s Dinner in Honour of the Services at Cutlers’ Hall on Wednesday 26 November 2025. The procession proudly included the newly repaired Society flags, and RAF cadets lined the stairs as guests moved from the reception to dinner. Isabel has led the double bass section of the RCM Symphony Orchestra on numerous occasions, most notably at the 2024 BBC Proms with Sakari Oramo conducting.
